Co-operative Funeralcare sponsor the World Bowls Tour

England's Andy Thomson beat Scotland's record 5 time world champion Alex Marshall at the 2008 dramatic final of The Co-operative Funeralcare World Matchplay Championship at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield - ultimately clinching the World Bowls Tour title by a measure of an eigth of an inch in the second end of a tie-break!

The Co-operative Funeralcare World Matchplay Tournament features the world's top eight indoor bowls players and the grand final event was an exciting end to 2-days of great bowls play for the crowd in Sheffield and Sky Sports TV viewers!

This was the 2nd year that The Co-operative Funeralcare sponsored the World Matchplay, providing valuable support for the popular sport.
